cds!
cds are a form of optical disc primarily used to store audio. invented in 1982, they exploded in popularity in the 90s and remained on top into the 2000s, although they began to sharply drop off along with other physical media as mp3s and itunes became more popular. however, i am a lover of the humble cd. and this is my page in dedication to them
my favorite part of cds is the extra aspects of customization that they often come with. little booklets of art/lyrics, printed designs on the disc itself, its such a charming aspect. i love getting new cds and taking a little moment to look at the little booklet to see whats in each one
the main way i listen to my cds is on my portable cd player ^_^ i love walking around and listening to my cds. its even one of those ones with the translucent plastic so you can see the internal components. although, the car cd player is a beautiful old friend. the first cd i ever owned was a phineas + ferb songs cd i got as a gift when i was like. 5 or 6 i believe? i lost it forever ago though. the first cd i got in my modern collection is my dead mans party cd, which i found in a secondhand cd bin at a bookstore i frequent back in march of 2023. this set off a chain reaction and my collection has grown wildly ever since. my discs
